Ensemble Awards
A first-place trophy will be presented to the winning ensembles in competing classes L1 through L6 of the large ensemble category, the winning combos in classes S1 through S4, and the winning vocal jazz ensembles in classes V1 and V2. A plaque will be presented to the second-, third-place and honorable mention ensembles in each of the large competing classes, the competing combo classes, and the competing vocal jazz ensemble classes. Scholarships awards to Summer Programs will be presented to first-, second- and third place ensembles during the Awards Presentation. Learn more about Summer Programs HERE.
Herb Pomeroy
The annual Herb Pomeroy Jazz Composition & Arranging Contest, named after the reknowned Berklee Faculty legend and jazz great, is sponsored by Berklee College of Music’s Jazz Composition Department and Professional Writing Division. The contests accepts original composition submissions. The winning piece is performed by the Berklee Rainbow Band (under the direction of Tia Fuller) at the High School Jazz Festival. Travel/lodging expenses are provided in order for the writer to attend the performance.
